I am trying to forward broadcast packets from one LAN to another LAN using OpenWRT. My setup looks like this: (Netgear R6080 Router, OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r20168-b2681e584c / LuCI Master git-22.203.79817-25dcd0b) I've got port forwarding set up between the two LANs just fine, but my software on the computer generates hearbeat packets and sends them.. In order to send/receive a broadcast address, you need to define your broadcast address (broadcast IP address and port number). For example: 192.168.2.255 and port number 3000. The client applications (the senders) MUST enable SO_BROADCAST socket option as follows: where sockfd is the socket descriptor.

Ensure Local Broadcasting is turned on for your 2.4 GHz network. You can usually fins this control on the screen where you name your network. If it's not there, it's probably already set correctly. Close Wiz (original) Delete Wiz 2. You must delete, not simply close it. Open Wiz (original) and pair your light.. 2. While it's true that WoL requires only Ethernet, any protocol on top of Ethernet also satisfies that requirement. So sending it via UDP is entirely possible. The "target" MAC address is part of the payload. Whether the packet is distributed locally via L2 broadcast or unicast is irrelevant. - Daniel B.
